Citi has a relationship with Philippines since 1902 when the International Banking Corporation established a branch in Manila, followed by another branch in Cebu in 1904. Today, Citibank is the largest foreign commercial bank in the Philippines in terms of customers, assets, revenues and domestic branch presence. It is the only foreign commercial bank that figures consistently in the top ten commercial banks in the country. Citi Philippines employs close to 4,800 staff, 99% of whom are Filipinos.
