ANZ re-entered India in 2011 by opening its branch in Mumbai. Subhas DeGamia is the chief executive of Indian operations.
ANZ made a strategic decision to sell its Grindlays business across South Asia in 2000. During that time, it continued to grow its operations and technology hub in Bangalore, which now employs 5,000 people.
The bank is now focusing on corporate and institutional clients and hence its products are focussed on providing Trade and supply chain, cash management, financing and markets.
