ICBC is now the World's Largest Bank
April 14, 2009The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China" href="/financial/industrial-and-commercial-bank-of-china.htm">Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) is now the world's largest bank. ICBC which has a market capitalisation of $US 193 billion is also the world's most profitable bank. The customer deposits reached $US1.3trillion at March 31, up from $US 950 billion at the beginning of the year, the company said. Next to ICBC in China is China Construction Bank with a market value of $US137billion, followed by Bank of China which is valued at $US96.2billion.
