Mammoth SBI adjudged Best Large-Size Bank
December 22, 2009‐ Mumbai, Maharashtra, IndiaMammoth, the magazine said, referring to State Bank of India (SBI) which is adjudged as the Best Large-size Bank. Other shortlisted banks are HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Bank of India and Punjab National Bank.
Deutsche Bank India is adjudged as the Best Small-size Bank. Other shortlisted banks in the category are Kotak Mahindra Bank, Yes Bank, Karur Vysya Bank and Barclays Bank.
Corporation Bank which has a balance sheet of Rs 86,906 crore and reported net profit of Rs 893 crore (FY 2009) is adjudged as the Best Bank Mid-Size in BusinessWorld and Pricewaterhouse-Coopers Survey. The CMD of the bank J M Garg received the prize from the Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee at a program held in Mumbai. Other shortlisted banks in the survey are Indian Bank, HSBC, Federal Bank and Allahabad Bank.
Axis Bank topped the Fastest Growing Large-Size Banks list. Other banks that made it to the top are State Bank of India, HDFC Bank, Bank of India and IDBI Bank.
Indian Bank is reported Fastest Growing Mid-Size Bank. Other banks in the list are HSBC India, Corporation Bank, ING Vysya Bank and Federal Bank.
Fastest Growing Small-Bank, according to the survey is Yes Bank. Others in the list are Deutsche Bank India, DBS India, Barclays Bank and BNP Paribas India.
