The World Economic Forum, in its report - The Global Competitiveness Report 2010–2011, has ranked Canada at # 1 in terms of soundness of banks in the country. The rankings was maintained at #1 (Index value: 6.8) in 2011-12.
Canada Banking Industry in 2011
The new Canadian $100 and $50 polymer notes are released in June 2011. They will begin getting circulated starting November 2011 and March 2012 respectively.
Bank of America in August 2011 sold its Canadian credit card portfolio of $8.6 billion to TD Bank Group and would also exit from credit card businesses from Britain and Ireland.
